Sluggish start with new battery
Webb30 juni 2009 · It sounds like the starter is the place to start with the new battery and cables. I do remember having similar issues though when I was buying the cheap batteries and it was slow more often than not. The interstate battery I have in now is much better and has not turned over slow since the change 3 years ago. WebbYep sounds like a battery issue. It's almost time for us 2015/2016 owners to swap them out. Battery is 5 years old start there. Battery that was my issue. I could tell it had been struggling for a minute by not starting instantly then one day it just didn’t start anymore. Get it replaced it’s a super quick fix.

Webb16 juli 2024 · Another cause of slow starting or low idle is a bad or corroded black battery cable. Acid creaps under the plastic sheath and diminishes its conductivity. You can test it witn a jumper cable. Use just the black side and connect one end to (-) battery post and the other end to a good ground point.
Webb27 juni 2014 · Basically, starter barely turns engine over. In fact it acts just like an almost dead battery would in winter. But engine and glow plugs are good, so it starts after hardly a single revolution. In my earlier post, I thought starter motor was just sticky, but even although car is driven daily, the problem has started again. I went to start it a week later and the batterys were so low they wouldn't start it. I boosted it and ran it for about 1/2 hour then shut it off and put the charger on it.
