Web22 Sep 2024 · I would not get the GS 904 without first casting the GS 884 - whenever Scott has offered 8'8" and 9' rods in the same weight in the same series, I have always preferred the 8'8" model. Along the same lines, in the old IM6s I personally consider 8'6" and shorter to be the sweethearts, and so a 9' 4 wt wouldn't be on my search list.
