WebLacing advice for those of you who own gaff- or gunter-rigged boats. When setting the mast lacing it is crucial to establish whether you have a straight luff or a throat and/or tack knock. Either way, it is of utmost importance that the luff lacing does not pull the sail closer to the mast than it was designed to be. WebThis is our setup. If you look closely you can see the ring around the boom. And on the top of the boom from the ring to the end there is the trimming line. In our case it runs around the end of the boom and comes out at the bottom. A line is attached that runs to the front of the boom. This way we can trim it.
